Tourist Visa & Entry Requirements – Maldives

A tourist visa is granted on arrival for all nationalities visiting the Maldives. Therefore, travelers do not need to obtain pre-approval for a tourist visa.

However, to receive immigration clearance upon arrival, the following entry requirements must be fulfilled:

✅ Basic Entry Requirements:

• A passport or travel document with Machine Readable Zone (MRZ) and at least 1 month of validity.
  (Note: Passports with extended validity are not accepted.)
• A complete travel itinerary, including:
  • Confirmed return flight tickets
  • Medical insurance
  • Prepaid booking at a registered hotel
  • Proof of sufficient financial means
  • A pre-approved visa sponsorship by Maldives Immigration
• Compliance with the entry requirements for onward destinations, including valid visas and passport validity.
• A Traveller Declaration must be filled and submitted by all travelers arriving to or departing from the Maldives.
  This must be done within 96 hours prior to the flight time via the IMUGA portal.
